Falmouth
This maritime town, lying on the south west coast of Cornwall is steeped in history. It was once home to the Packet Ship service,
carrying mail and goods to the Mediterranean and the Americas. Pendennis Castle, along with St. Mawes Castle on the other side
of the harbour entrance played a very important part in defending the coastline. Falmouth is now one of Cornwall's main tourist
destinations, with attractions such as the new
National Maritime Museum Cornwall and Glendurgan Subtropical Gardens (National Trust).
