Bridport

An interesting old town with exceptionally wide streets, a relic from the time when this was the main rope and net producing town in the country.

There is a great deal of historical interest here, mainly connected with the rope industry, but there is an association with the Monmouth rebellion of the 17th Century when a skirmish took place in the town.
