A town of charm and character, famous for its school, abbey and castles with a history that stretches back to the beginning of the 8th Century. Sherborne Abbey, as seen today, dates mainly from the 15th Century though evidence of the earlier Saxon and Norman churches may still be seen. It is a truly magnificent building with superb fan vaulting, fine monuments and 15th Century stained glass to be found inside.
The town itself is one of Dorset's most attractive and contains buildings of many styles from Tudor through Stuart, Georgian and Victorian, right up to the most modern designs.
