Alton
A historic market town in rural Hampshire, Alton is surrounded by beautiful countryside. The town is the terminus for the Mid-Hants Steam Railway which runs to Alresford. In nearby Chawton is Jane Austen's House, where the author lived between 1809 and 1817.
