Bradford-on-Avon

Bradford-on-Avon's history goes back to at least the 7th Century, for it was here in 652 that Cenwealh finally defeated the Britons to form the Kingdom of Wessex and became its first king. The town rises in tiers of grey limestone on its surrounding hills with the Avon flowing lazily along the valley.
