Fovant

Fovant is perhaps best known for the Military Badges cut into the downs above the village. The majority of the badges were cut by soldiers stationed locally during World War I and represent British and Australian regiments. They can be clearly seen from the passing A30. The village itself is located about halfway between the hilltop town of Shaftesbury and the cathedral city of Salisbury.
